Direction for next update, and VCFMW 20
I’ve gotten some good feedback on the project from some folk on the LoadstarCE forums, so I have ideas for upcoming updates, particularly I want it to be configurable to change the display font, and to make the menus full-screen. I also want to switch how the menus handle VICE configuration; right now it switches to a custom profile, but that makes it harder for users to change its input configuration and save it. This definitely needs to be fixed. The other things also need me to put in config saving support, so I know what to do next.
Item two: my talk proposal at VCFMW 20 in the middle of September has been accepted! So I’ll be heading off to Boston to present there, and I’m HUGELY looking forward to it. They have a massive dealer’s room, I hope to get some nice hardware to tinker with, maybe a bona-fide CP/M machine, only like 45 years after they were popular! If you don’t know CP/M, think DOS, but simpler, and made to work for 64K Z80-based machines. PC-DOS was originally intended as a kind of 8086-based clone of CP/M!
More news as it breaks! Keep on Commodorin’!
